I visited Pune Camp yesterday and noticed a great-looking co-working space. I loved the name and thought, looks cool, I should check them out. As I searched for them, I came across their Google business listing, a few reviews, but their website redirected me to social media.
This was a big turnoff, because I was excited about learning more about what this co-working space is all about, and I had to watch a few testimonial type videos, which essentially didn’t answer my question.
As a potential customer, I was looking for signals of what makes them different, and why I should choose them when thinking about a co-working space. But because they didn’t have a website, I dropped the idea of considering them. Sounds harsh, but I don’t think I will visit the place just to satisfy my curiosity.
Imagine how often this happens to other businesses who think they can just get away without a website and let social media handle their online presence. BIG mistake!
Websites are an integral part of a business; they are, by all means, the right platform to speak and represent your business. Without them, you are sending a wrong signal, that you don’t care about your business enough to have a website. And without a website, your potential customers don’t know where to look for relevant information about what makes YOU the right choice for them.
Does this resonate? Let me know in the comments!
I felt glad that I build websites, and how they are so important, even when we have tons of places where we can talk about our business, nothing can replace our own website.
